Tell GoodUs what you already ate or drank, for example “2 eggs and toast”. Add portions or ingredients where you can. You can also type /food banana or send a clear meal photo.
For movement, send something like “walked for 30 minutes” or /exercise 30 min walk. Include the activity and roughly how long or how far you went. GoodUs replies with an estimate and updated totals. If it asks a clarifying question, answer that before sending a new entry.
Send /undo in the GoodUs chat. It removes your latest food or movement entry from today and shows the revised totals. A meal logged from a photo can also be undone.
To replace that entry, wait for the removal confirmation, then send the correct meal or movement details. Check which entry GoodUs says it removed, especially if you logged movement after your meal. If there is nothing available to undo today, GoodUs will tell you.
Tell GoodUs what should change in ordinary words, such as “2 slices, not 1” or “the walk was 30 minutes”. It looks for a matching entry among today’s five most recent entries and confirms the change with revised totals.
If it cannot match your correction, use /undo to remove the latest entry and then send the corrected details. Check the entry it removes before logging a replacement.
Send /status, or choose Today’s summary from the menu, to see today’s estimated food, movement and goal.
To clear all of today’s food and movement totals, send /reset, then choose Yes, reset. Choose Keep today to leave them unchanged. If buttons are unavailable, follow the text prompt and reply YES only if you want to reset. A confirmed reset cannot be undone. To remove just the latest entry, use /undo instead.
Yes. After setup, send a clear photo of your meal or a short voice note describing what you ate or how you moved. GoodUs shows what it saw or heard so you can check the interpretation. Meal photos and voice notes are used for processing and are not stored by GoodUs.
If a photo is unclear or a voice note is not understood, type the details instead. For an oversized file, try a smaller image or shorter voice note. Videos, documents, stickers, locations and contact cards are not supported for logging.
Say you are planning or considering a meal, for example “thinking of pizza for dinner”. GoodUs estimates how it would fit into your day without adding it to your totals.
Once you have eaten it, choose Log it or reply LOG IT to add it. Choose Not now to leave it unlogged. If the planned meal is no longer available in the chat flow, send what you actually ate as a new message.
Send /name Sam to change your name, /diet vegetarian to change your diet preference, or /goal 1800 to change your daily calorie goal. Replace the examples with your own details. Goals must be supported whole numbers; GoodUs explains if a value cannot be used.
For help estimating a goal, send /goalhelp. It asks six questions about the calculation reference, age, height, weight, activity and aim. Reply CANCEL if you want to stop the calculator. GoodUs is designed for adults aged 18 and over and provides general wellness estimates.
Ask in ordinary words, such as “How did you work out that estimate?” GoodUs uses the assumptions saved with your recent entry, such as portion size, ingredients or activity details, to explain its estimate.
If something was different, tell it what to change so it can recalculate. Calorie and movement figures are approximate.
Open the official GoodUs WhatsApp chat and say hi. Read the terms and privacy notice, agree if you want to continue, then follow the prompts for your first name, daily goal and diet preference. GoodUs confirms when your 7-day trial is active. No payment details are needed for the trial, which is available once per number.
Send /plan when you want to subscribe. Choose R29 per month or R290 per year, provide the requested email for payment receipts and follow the Paystack payment link sent in the chat. Nothing is charged until you choose a plan and pay. Wait for confirmation that your paid plan is active, then keep using the same WhatsApp chat.
Send /billing or choose Billing & payments from the menu. GoodUs shows your plan status and recent payments, with a link to manage your subscription or update your card when available.
If a payment failed, use the management link for your existing subscription. If the link is unavailable or access stays paused, send /support or email help@helpfully.co.za.
Send /cancel or select Cancel subscription from the menu. Review the confirmation message, then choose Yes, cancel to stop future payments, or Keep my plan to keep it active. Follow the text confirmation if buttons do not appear.
After cancellation is confirmed, access continues until the end of your paid period. During the free trial there is no subscription to cancel, and you are not charged unless you choose a paid plan. A full refund ends paid access straight away; contact support for help with a refund request.
Send /mydata or select My data from the menu to see your account information, today’s totals and food and movement entries from the last seven days. For a fuller copy or a privacy enquiry, send /support or email help@helpfully.co.za. Send /terms to read the bot’s terms and privacy summary.
Send /delete to request permanent deletion. Read the warning and choose Yes, delete only if you want to continue, or Keep my data to stop. Deleting your data also cancels any GoodUs subscription. Paystack keeps its own payment records, and GoodUs retains a one-way code for trial eligibility as explained in the privacy notice.
If GoodUs asks for a portion, ingredient or movement detail, reply to that question. It has not logged the entry yet. Reply SKIP or CANCEL if you want to abandon that clarification. If it says it could not estimate or save the entry, nothing was added; try again later or send clearer details.
If the same text or photo arrives again within two minutes, GoodUs may ask whether to log it again. Choose Not again for an accidental repeat, or Log it again for an intentional second entry. Check /status if you are unsure of your current totals.
GoodUs currently allows up to 30 logging and question messages per day. If you reach the limit, return tomorrow. The menu, /status and /support remain available.
Send /support and follow the options shown. Depending on the chat options, you can describe the problem for the team or open a pre-filled email. You can always email help@helpfully.co.za. Include your account reference if GoodUs provides one, what happened and roughly when it happened. Keep passwords, card details and payment codes out of your message.
